Phantom Okapi

Influenced by another DA user (Phantom-Okapi, of course). I just saw the name, and this image jumped in my head...especially with the striped legs fading into nothingness.

Heh, just a doodle, but I like how it turned out.

Of course, you could assign all sorts of deep meaning to this...about the okapi's threatened extinction, and disappearing, and all that jazz...but depth was not intended.

Edit: decided to unscrap this, after a day of mulling (and some outside influences, heh) it seems like I should put this out. Though I'm concidering scrapping a few other pictures...

Because of this, I'll talk more about the picture. I actually basically traced a photo of an okapi (I didn't put it in photomanipulation because the photo is no longer there...) and added my own little trademarks, with the legs, and the creative liberties with coloring (especially on the face and eyes). The smoke was a real half-job, but it turned out decently.
